BIOGRAPHY

Halley Campo was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and is currently a junior at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee in the Contemporary Dance BFA program.  Her dance training began at California Academy of Performing Arts, where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, musical theater, and contemporary dance. She knew she wanted to take on dance more seriously when she entered highschool, and auditioned for and studied in auxiliary intensives at City Ballet School, American Ballet Theater, and Joffrey Ballet Academy while she completed highschool. She danced in CAPA’s annual nutcracker in ensemble pieces and in soloist roles including Clara, Rose Queen, and her final two years as the Sugar Plum Fairy. As a student of Lynn Brilhante, she also studied and assisted classes at the Alonzo King Lines Dance Center. Under Lynn’s tutelage, Halley accompanied her in Loma Mar at Living Jazz’s immersion camp in her intermediate and advanced contemporary jazz classes.  There, she has had the privilege and joy of collaborating with other dancers and musicians from a wide range of backgrounds under the direction of Liz Luke and Stacey Hoffman.

Ms. Campo has attended summer programs including Doug Varone’s Winter Workshop, Ground Grooves LA, and Living Jazz in San Francisco. In her time at the Conservatory, she has collaborated in residencies and performed in works by Doug Varone, Dwight Rhoden, Andrew Skeels, Chung Fu Chang, Alyssa Cardone, Adriana Suarez, and Gino DiMarco. She looks forward to attending Doug Varone’s Summer Workshop and Akram Khan’s intensive workshop at Orsolina this summer. In addition to being a full time student, Campo is nearing her second year as a shop associate and interim shop manager for Equinox gym locations in California and Boston where she additionally hopes to complete Pilates and Group Fitness certifications!
